What fees will I incur when selling my home?
When selling your home there are certain fees that you will normally incur. Usually these fees will need to be paid in cash and cannot be added to your next mortgage.
The fees you will incur when selling your home include:
- Solicitor's fees, which can be somewhere in the region of £400-£600.
- Agent's fees, such as an estate agent or auctioneer. The cost will vary depending on your contract but you can expect to pay somewhere around £2,000 for selling a house for £100,000.
If you are buying a home at the same time as selling, you may also need to pay for stamp duty, survey fees, land registry fees and so on.
